When you are considering purchasing the bullet security camera, you should decide on the best resolution you feel is necessary. Most bullet security devices will grab images in color. This is proper for daylight, however not very reliable for the dark. An infrared camera will grab the images in black and white, which is better for dark or night.

The better made bullet security cameras will actually switch between color and black and white automatically. Its sensors can determine which resolution it will need. Typically speaking the black and white levels are only about four hundred lines, but higher resolution of lines is needed for the color.
